The BasedCon Based Book Sale is on Sept. 7-12
The sale coinciding with the week of BasedCon 3 offers over 60 new titles
If you missed out on the biggest book event of the summer and can’t wait until the holiday Based Book Sale, you’re in luck! Superversive Mad Scientist Hans G. Shantz has organized a week of deals to coincide with Robert Kroese’s bigger-than-ever third BasedCon.
The event, which has been sold out for weeks and is the largest yet, gained national attention for a brief while thanks to a limp-wristed attempt to mar the gathering as “gross and sad” by Andy Chalk of PC Gamer. His piece, which I will not link to, attempted to shame John Carmack into backing out (Update, Andy: he didn’t), and concluded the article by throwing Carmack under the bus, saying: “It all comes down to the old adage: Never meet your heroes.” He finishes by mentioning that he’d “reached out to Carmack for comment”, and was presumably ignored, given the lack of any addendum.
The Big BasedCon Based Book Sale, running between September 7-12, will feature plenty of returning favorites in addition to over sixty new titles being offered either for .99 or free. More than a few have even been reviewed here, so make sure to cross-reference on titles you’re interested in! For a full list, check out AetherCzar’s website.
