Cancel Culture comes for Henry Cavill
Another day, another lynch mob. It seems that the Leftists' outrage mob can't go a day without someone they need to hate. We've all seen how they went after Gina Carano for months. At first, she wouldn't bend the knee and put in "preferred pronouns," then she made fun of the crybullies on Twitter. Then, finally, she was fired for pointing out that Nazi Germany spent years building up hatred against Jews before started the Holocaust. This was spun as "she's a Nazi," giving the outrage mob just enough ammunition to get her fired from the Mandalorian.
Now they have a new target. With Carano out of reach, they decided to go after an ex-boyfriend: Man of Steel and The Witcher star Henry Cavill.
Yes, back in the day, two somewhat attractive people who worked out dated on and off for about a year. Stop the presses. Obviously, this is unprecedented in the history of media. (Upstream Reviews will, one day, create a "sarcasm font" just to be clear about it.)
But this surprises no one. Guilt by association is how they operate. It's not allowed in our legal system, but that doesn't stop outrage mobs. It's probably preferred by the mob because the Constitution forbids it.
Thankfully, at the moment, the attempt to "cancel" Henry Cavill out of a career has not yet picked up the traction that the war on Carano ever did. But it is early days in the process. It's possible that the attention span of the mob leads them to other victims.
But it took months for the Twitterati to get Carano fired. Let's see if they have the stamina to keep up with a man of steel.
