Chapter 5: Follow the Screaming
They heard the gunshots before they heard the screaming.
Marco and Amanda found the wendigo on the fourth floor, tearing into the nurses’ station like it was a child’s cardboard fortress.
Amanda flashed behind the wendigo, slamming it upside the head with a fire extinguisher. The wendigo snarled and whirled on Amanda. She backhanded it with the extinguisher with her right hand, then sprayed it directly in the face with the silver solution.
The wendigo reared back, screaming in pain as its eyes hissed and burned.
Marco burst out of the stairs behind Amanda, his gun up and ready.
Amanda dove out of the way as Marco opened fire.
