A new day, a new anthology.
Seriously, I’m going to have to start tracking everything I’ve come out with this year.
I have three novels (Honeymoon from Hell, 3, 4, and 5).
I wrote Land & Sea #10, coming out this year. (I think.)
I’m going to be in the best of 2024 From Raconteur Press. (Haven’t gotten the contract yet.)
Now, I’m in this:
The original call for the anthology was :
The anthology will be called ’til Death Do Us Part, and will be a collection of Action/Adventure stories featuring married couples as the heroes and heroines.
Specifically heterosexual, monogamous, committed marriages–and the fact that I have to specify that is a big part of why I feel the need to do this project.
I am looking for stories that show men and women working together as a team to overcome adversity, complementing their strengths, compensating for their weaknesses, and putting their family first, no matter what.
The call also referenced wanting dynamics in the vein of The Mummy films. Because finding a married action couple is pretty darn difficult to think of. (In television, it’s even worse, since marriage of the main characters always seems to equal the kiss of death… that’s a different rant.)
Since the call for this came out last fall, during the release of Honeymoon From Hell, so you can guess who I used to fill out the submission.
The blurb for my story could probably be, well, this:
After Marco wiped out an entire Chicago street gang to save his wife Amanda, everything seemed calm. But nature abhors a vacuum of power. When the sun sets, a new street gang is trying to make its mark by tearing up the city, with some of the same supernatural weapons. The newlyweds are going to enjoy their honeymoon, no matter how many gang bangers they have to kill.
You know, same-old, same-old.
It really is funny how much of this entire series has a combination of “We just want to be left alone to play tourist” and Marco deciding, “Amanda wanted the perfect vacation, and I will give it to her no matter how many of you f***ers I have to kill!”
Anyway, once more, the anthology is here:
As for the rest of the Honeymoon From Hell, you can buy the whole series here.
Illegitimi Non Carborundum, y’all.
Hey, Declan,
We made the announcement that you were in the Best Of antho in front of a crowd of cheering fans at the What's New at Raconteur Press panel at Fencon.
Since we couldn't find you in the audience, I made sure to go find you and give you the news.
When the CEO and HMFIC of the press takes time to go chase down an author to give him news, you don't need to guess about it after that.
You're in the Best Of antho.

Purchased! My reading backlog is huge, so I'm not sure when I'll be able to get to it. But the description made it irresistible!
