Well, my new publisher's editor (three ravens) wants a LOT of changes to my second book before they reprint it, as in add pages and pages of dialog. I've got another book that my alpha reader has been sitting on instead of working through, for reasons that will become obvious in a second. And then there's the biggie. We bought 53. 8 acres in the East Tennessee hills up around Rogersville (south west of the Tri-cities) and we're cleaining up/packing to put the house we've lived in for 36 years on the market, so we can go to the new land and get a house built there... to say I'm a little busy would be an understatement.
You have my sympathy. I'm juggling a third as many books, and not keeping up. I've had some marketing successes . . . which seems to tie in to taking much longer to get the latest novel done.
I get you on marketing. I've decided to hunker down and mainly write so I can put more out there, and worry about marketing next year when the paradigm will have undoubtedly changed again.
I understand the feeling!!!
I'm good. Even if I don't have time for most of my notifications from substack, yours are usually worthwhile.
Thank you.
Yes, I know what you are going through....
Banging mine and Bill's heads against the wall as we struggle to finish "International Agatha Christie, She Watched." Only 8 months late.
Marketing is awful and necessary and takes way too much time and we don't know if any of it works worth a darn.
Amen

Oh, man. I get the feeling.
