LA Is Burning

And Who Cares?

Everyone seems to be putting their two cents into this LA thing.

Okay, I can throw in two cents.

We’ve all seen for at least the last five years that there have been two Americas. John Edwards¹ finally got his wish. Growing up, I felt like this was one country. Then in 2020, the Big Blue Cities decided that you didn’t have any rights unless the city gave it to you. That’s when I started making plans to flee.

So, there’s sane, normal America, and there's Big Blue City America.

Having fled to sane America, I’m pretty certain sane America doesn’t care what Los Angeles is going to do to itself this week. Growing up, I had an aunt who was screwed up by my grandmother, became a welfare queen, had five bastard children (literally out of wedlock), and after a while, we had to just check out of watching her make one bad decision after another.

California would be the welfare queen here… considering California’s budgetary considerations right now, yeah.²

Sane, normal Americans spent the last four years getting screamed at every single day about “the insurrection” because 300,000 person protest had about 150 get uppity (at least 32 of them were FedBoi CIs anyway). Some the 150 were violent at one building for a few hours. We’ve had four years of being told that was the single greatest crime in the history of America. And then the autopen Joe Biden’s government sent people to solitary confinement, and cruel and unusual punishment for four years, in what amounted to misdemeanor trespass.

And in LA 2025, like in 2020, the left riots any time they don't get their way like a five-year old throwing a tantrum.

Luckily, the left will destroy their own cities, hurts thousands of their own people, blocks their own freeways, and burns down businesses and homes, for as long as they want… it’s never a big deal. Ever. One. “Oh they're just having fun burning cars! Where’s the harm?” It would be terrible to enforce laws.

What about any normal people who live there? That’s their problem. Should have voted Republican.

But hey, make congress slightly uncomfortable once, it will be the end of the world! Put 5,000 FBI agents on it!

Terrorize tens of thousands of regular Americans, burn and steal their stuff, threaten them… can’t send the Guard in, that would only escalate things.

And everyone can see how organized this is. All those pre-printed signs? All those matching masks? All those brand-new Mexican flags? Nice.

Even better, some of it has been traced to leftwing organizations that have been … tax payer funded. By USAID. Of course it is.

Los Angeles hasn’t even started doing the paperwork to rebuild from their last disaster, and they’ve created another one. Of course, they’ll eventually blame the Right for it, became taking personal responsibility would be just too much.

As a historian, let me spell something out a little.

Do you remember (or have ever heard of) the New York Daily New headline, “Ford to City: Drop Dead”? In October 1975, New York City had nearly half a billion dollars in debts coming due, with only a few million on hand. The total debt? Over $13 billion (yes, I’m factoring in everything). To avoid an administrator coming in and taking over, they formed the Emergency Financial Control Board (EFCB).

Meanwhile, last year, 2024, California was $1.6 trillion in debt. Yes. Trillion. That’s not a typo. After some internet searches, $1.6 trillion is bigger than the GDP of 85% of the countries on the planet Earth.

Far as I’m concerned, California should be put under the control of a responsible adult as administrator. Maybe that’s the only way they’ll stop setting themselves on fire.
